About Us

We are Midwest Wheel Services and we are a locally owned franchise of Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. We are a company that only specializes in wheel repair and wheel sales so that we become the experts in our field rather than learning a little information about a lot of different things. We take your wheel repair needs seriously and preform every repair to the highest quality possible while trying to keep the repairs as quick and cost effective as possible. Midwest Wheel Services joined the Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists family in 2010 and has grown to be in the top 10% of franchise locations. We believe our growth is due to great customer service and always doing the right thing for the customers even if it means losing a job because there is a more cost effective option for the customer. We have mobile reconditioning units that operate in 16+ counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin with our main shop location in St. Paul Minnesota. We offer mobile service in St. Paul Minnesota and suburbs, also Rochester Minnesota and surrounding areas, as well as mobile service in St. Cloud Minnesota and surrounding areas and we also have a mobile unit that services Eau Claire and La Crosse Wisconsin. In addition to the listed areas we also services several towns outside of the mentioned areas. Our goal is to be a full service wheel repair company by offering wheel remanufacturing, wheel customizing, powder coating services, wheel straightening, wheel welding, OEM wheel sales, aftermarket wheel sales, tire sales, wheel care products, tire care products and seasonal tire storage. For a lot of situations we have the ability to offer onsite wheel repair services to commercial accounts and in some areas retail customers. We do offer tire sales in our retail location only but only as an additional service, we are by no means experts in tires and we simply offer tires sales as a convenience to our customers.

Company Timeline

Midwest Wheel Services (Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists Minnesota) was established in late 2010 as a part time business that provided on site wheel repair services in a state of the art mobile reconditioning unit. In early 2012 the business progressed from a part time business to a full time business. In early 2013 Midwest Wheel services acquired Central Minnesota Wheel Rite. The acquisition increased out footprint from just Rochester and added St. Paul and St. Cloud to our service area. We increased our mobile reconditioning facility fleet from just one to four units. In 2015 we rented our first physical location in Shoreview Minnesota. In that location we opened a full remanufacturing facility. We were now able to repair any wheel that can safely be repaired in house. In 2016 we added an additional mobile reconditioning facility to our fleet in order to help service the St. Paul area better. In late 2017 we added two more mobile reconditioning units to our fleet witch brought our fleet to seven units. One of the mobile units is stationed in Wisconsin to service Eau Claire and LaCrosse and the other unit now used as an overflow and back up unit. In 2018 Midwest Wheel Services became an aftermarket wheel and tire dealer. We can now offer most brands of aftermarket wheels and tires at great prices. In late 2019 Midwest Wheel Services partnered with Chemical Guys to provide high quality wheel and tire care products to their customers. Also in late 2019 Midwest Wheel Services acquired a large offsite warehouse in order to provide seasonal wheel and tire storage in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. In beginning of 2020 Midwest Wheel Services will be adding a box truck to our fleet witch will assist in on site wheel and tire install for our tire storage division and well as offer on site wheel straightening to retail customers.

About the Owner

Jason Kothenbeutel is the owner and operator of Midwest Wheel Services. He has a passion for about anything that has a motor and has been in the automotive business since 2002. Jason went to school at Universal Technical Institute in Chicago, IL. After school he moved back to Minnesota and worked as a mechanic for a small shop specializing in European vehicle. He then went to work as a mechanic for a Honda Dealership for almost 10 years. Jason always knew he wanted to operate his own business and an opportunity to own an Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists franchise came by accident in 2009. After a year of trying to get financing he was finally able to open towards the end of 2010. He started working part time building the business while holding a full time job and was able to repair wheels full time in 2012. Fast forward to today and his business has about 18 employees, 7 mobile repair units and a full service shop. Outside of work Jason is very involved with family. He is married (to a very understanding wife) as well as two great kids. Most of his time outside of work is spent on the water or on the wrestling mat watching and coaching his two kids. Jason’s goal is to build the upper Midwest premier wheel repair company that is known for honesty and quality at a fair price.
